About the Role
As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role of ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all team Members working in the Debert Dealer Support Centre. You will support and drive health and safety programs and processes that address incidents, work towards reducing incidents and enable preventative behaviours within the workforce. Led by the Director, Health and Safety, this position will best suit a proactive and solutions-driven professional with a genuine passion for building a workplace where safety is lived every day.

Lead incident investigations, reporting, tracking, participation, and follow up.
Provide Disability Management for all WCB claims and injuries including return to work (RTW), reporting, and tracking.
Administrate and support all Health and Safety committee activities, including agenda, taking minutes, and coordinating monthly inspections.
Collaborating with government officials, division managers, peers, and corporate stake holders to ensure health and safety compliance.
Maintenance of all first aid and PPE by site, including all fire hoses / extinguishers.
Coordinate and facilitate external safety training events such as first aid, fall arrest, and lock out tag out (LOTO).
Coordinate fire safety activities including drills and providing training and support to fire crew.
Conduct periodic Health and Safety System audits as well as inspections related to working at heights and equipment review.
We’re looking for:
A college diploma in Health and Safety or similar, alongside 3-5 years of hands-on experience driving health and safety within the workplace.
Ability to interpret legislation.
General to advanced computer skills, including specialize Health and Safety programs.
Skilled at accident reporting.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational abilities.
A self-starter with the ability to manage time and workload independently with minimal supervision.
The ability to be onsite five days a week at our Debert Dealer Support Centre, to accommodate the needs of the role.

Requirements
