Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC)
The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) is the only national association dedicated to private fleet operators in Canada.    The council plays a key role in the truck transportation community, actively lobbying for issues such as government legislation, business practices and driver safety.    Founded in 1977, the Mississauga based organization is well known for effectively educating governments about issues affecting private fleet operators and providing educational opportunities for its members.    Helpfast is a strong supporter of of policies developed by the PMTC, and adheres wholly to their guidelines.
PMTC Code of Ethics
  A member shall deal fairly with customers, colleagues, and fellow members of the PMTC and the general public.

  A member shall conduct his or her professional life in accordance with the interests of the PMTC, the driver leasing industry and the transportation general public.

  A member shall adhere to honesty and integrity and to generally accepted principals of professional conduct.

  A member shall not engage in any practice which tends to corrupt the integrity of the PMTC, the driver leasing industry or the process of government, and a member shall not intentionally communicate false or misleading information concerning his or her financial, ethical or professional business background.

  A member must not mislead the general public through false advertising of jobs, wages, benefits or any advertisement of any services not approved by the current regulations pertaining to the general transportation industry.

  A member shall not intentionally injure the professional reputation or business of another member.

  However, if a member has evidence that another member has been guilty of unethical, illegal or unfair practice, including those in violation of this code, the member shall present the information promptly to the proper authorities of the PMTC for action in accordance with the procedures set forth by the PMTC Driver Leasing Division Ethics Committee.

  A member shall make proper, just and prompt payments for all contractual obligations.

  A member shall refrain from back soliciting a client or customer introduced to him or her by another member, except by way of proving competitive quotations and in accordance with standard business practices.

  A member shall, as soon as possible, sever relations with any organization or individual if such relationship requires conduct contrary to the article of this code.
